Eric welcomes commission of artworks. He understands commissioning an artwork is a deeply personal experience and will work with you to capture the likeness or emotions of the subject regardless of whether it is a person, a couple (e.g., wedding portrait), a group of people (e.g., family portrait), pets or animals, or other subjects of your interests (e.g., landscape and still life).

Commission an artwork
1. Visualisation
Consider how best to represent the vision of the artwork you have in mind. What medium should it be? What dimensions would be more visually impactful? How would you like the artwork framed and delivered? How soon would you like it to be completed?
Eric works predominantly in oil and watercolour and will work with you to visualise the vision you have. Please contact Eric to commission an artwork.
2. Initial Consultation & Booking
Once your expression of interest in commissioning an artwork is received, Eric will have an initial consultation with you to understand your vision and the context of the commission. You will receive a quote and a completion timeframe for the artwork. A non‑refundable 30% deposit is required to secure your booking before work begins.
3. Artwork Creation
Eric creates artworks using a combination of photographs and painting studies from live sittings. You are welcome to provide reference photographs of the subject, and if suitable photographs are not available, Eric may request additional images to be taken or arrange live sitting sessions.
4. Artwork Completion & Refinement
Depending on the painting medium and scale of the commission, changes to the artwork may not always be possible. When appropriate, Eric will give you an opportunity to review the artwork before final adjustments are made.
5. Framing & Delivery/ Collection
Once the remaining 70% balance of the commission is settled, the artwork will be sent for framing (if required) and prepared for shipping or scheduled studio collection. A Certificate of Authenticity will be issued with all commissioned artworks.
Please note:
The process of painting in oil and the associated drying time may take several weeks to several months. Watercolour generally has a quicker turnaround time. Drying, framing and delivery timeframes may be beyond Eric’s control. Please consider these factors and discuss with Eric to ensure the artwork can be completed within your desired timeframe.
Commission Fees
- For oil painting on stretched canvas (unframed - ready to hang): Starting from AUD 19 per linear inch (i.e., height + width in inches) with a minimum dimension of 16”×12”.
For example, the price for a 16”×12” simple landscape painting in oil on stretched canvas is:
AUD 19 / inch × (16+12) inch = AUD 532 - For watercolour on 300 gsm paper: Starting from AUD 350 for an A4 artwork.
Please note:
Additional charges are applicable depending on the subject and complexity of the composition (e.g., number of subjects, inclusion of hands/ full body length, detailed backgrounds/ complexed patterns), as well as framing and delivery requirements. Eric will provide you a comprehensive quote and a completion timeframe for the artwork so that you can understand all fees involved.
