Aaron as Cowboy

Aaron Hawton is a life model and home baker, and was a finalist in the Great Australian Bake Off in 2022.

The lighting in this portrait session was somewhat challenging. A strong light source from the right created a stark contrast across one side of Aaron’s face, while the other side was softly illuminated by diffused light. It was beautiful, almost romantic, and it gave the impression of Aaron as a cowboy emerging from misty morning light. I spent another hour after the session adjusting the contrast so it did not appear as though he had a bruise on his face.
