Robert Alejandro Tinning is a dancer, creator, and teacher. Based in Vancouver, we were incredibly fortunate to have him pose for us while he was performing in Melbourne with Chunky Move.

I was very fond of a 20‑minute drawing I had done earlier of Robert, and it became the foundation for this piece. In this painting, I portrayed Robert with a calm and introspective expression, as though he were taking a brief moment of repose before his next performance. The warm yellows and soft purples in the background create a gentle, sunlit atmosphere that complements his quiet stillness.
