Rebirth

This was painted en plein air during my solo road trip through Central Australia to Northern Territory for 3 months in 2024.

Wangi Falls has spectacular rock formation framed by the twin falls. The smaller one on the left has a small rock pool where people climb in there to enjoy the slightly warmer water.

Lying in the rock pool looking up, I could not help but noticing that the cave above resembles a vagina and I felt like I have just been reborn.

I have had a complicated relationship with my mother and exactly a year ago, I had a good conversation with her and let her know that I will need to end the relationship with her and wished her living to the fullest for the remaining of her life.

The recurring theme of this road trip seems to be about rebirth - Quitting my full time job for 12 years and reinventing myself as an artist. I am trying not to let the past holding me back in the processing of reshaping the future.
