Vertical Garden

This was painted en plein air during my solo road trip through Central Australia to Northern Territory for 3 months in 2024.

I really love the plants that strategically positioned behind the translucent curtain of Florence Falls. It's like a designer vertical garden that has been carefully planned and planted.

A man and his family were curious to see my painting. I showed them the work in progress. An hour or so later as they were leaving, he requested to see the painting again and asked how much I would sell it for. It was hard to tell if people were asking out of curiosity or with genuine intention to buy.

It is an art to sell art. I am getting more comfortable to state the price I am asking for and not let the silence or comment afterwards deflates me. The value of a piece of artwork is really hard to judge. Is it really the case that the value of an artwork is only as much as what someone is willing to pay for?
